Volunteer Opportunities
We have a need for volunteers to help out with the campus social norms marketing campaign currently called "Just the Facts." Students are needed to participate in focus groups that help to develop marketing posters and newspaper ads. We also need students to help with planning reinforcement activities and contests. If you would like to help, please contact our office.
Intern and Project Opportunities
Just the Facts Student Coordinator:
We
are currently hosting an Off Campus College internship for a student interested
in helping to promote and manage the campus social norms marketing campaign.
Students must be willing to commit to both the fall and spring semesters and
intend to devote between two and four hours a week. Duties include the organizing
and facilitating of focus groups, development of reinforcement activities,
and assistance with various campaign related tasks. Interested students should
contact our office. (This position is currently filled for the 2002-3 school
year, but we welcome student to apply for the 2003-4 position.)
Computer Program Project:
We could use the assistance of an interested student who may be looking for an opportunity to develop a web-based interactive survey for the Smart Choices web site. Our office is willing to work with students toward integrating this project into their classroom projects or assignments. As such we are willing and eager to work with a professor and her or his student to creatively develop what is merely an idea into a working and effective tool. We are also willing to host an internship through an interested student's academic department. Anyone interested in exploring this opportunity should call the Alcohol & Other Drug Program office and ask to speak to Gerry Johansen.
